Per Bolund is the Swedish Minister for Financial Markets and Consumer Affairs. He is a member of the Swedish Green Party.
Born in Stockholm in 1971, Per Bolund has a master’s degree in biology from Stockholm University and the University of Stirling, Scotland. Furthermore, he has pursued two years of doctoral studies at the Department of Ecology, Environment and Plant Sciences at Stockholm University.
Between 2002-2006, Per Bolund worked as a political advisor at the Ministry of Enterprise, Energy and Communications, where he was responsible for infrastructure, traffic policy, IT issues and congestion charges in Stockholm. In 2006, he was elected Member of the Swedish Parliament and worked for the following four years in the Committee of Industry and Trade. His most recent assignment as Member of Parliament between 2011-2014 was in the Committee of Finance, as the Economic Policy Spokesperson.
Since 2014, Per Bolund is the Swedish Minister for Financial Markets and Consumer Affairs, and Deputy Minister of Finance. Ensuring the stability of the financial system, strengthening consumer protection in the financial sector and encouraging more sustainable investments in the financial markets are three of his main political priorities.
